Dasam Foundation Extends Support to Families in Need Across Assam

Dasam Foundation provides financial assistance in Assam through its Dibrugarh and Nagaon chapters, supporting education and cancer treatment for families in need through timely seva initiatives.

In a continued effort to serve the community, the Dasam Foundation has extended financial assistance to families in need through its Dibrugarh and Nagaon Chapters. The recent initiatives focused on supporting a child’s education and assisting a family dealing with a serious medical condition.

Helping a Child Continue His Educational Journey – Dibrugarh

On 11 April 2026, the Dibrugarh Chapter stepped in to support a family from Dikom.

Ranjeeta Kaur had approached the Foundation seeking ₹5,000 to help cover her son’s school admission expenses. The request was received by Chapter Coordinator Harprit Singh Virdi, who ensured that the application was properly reviewed.

After verification, the matter was placed before the Board of Trustees, Dasam Foundation. Understanding both the urgency and the importance of education, the Board approved the request without delay.

The amount was disbursed through an account payee cheque issued in the name of Ranjeeta Kaur, and was formally handed over by the Coordinator.

A small contribution like this can often make a big difference, helping a child take an important first step in his education.

In another instance of timely support, the Nagaon Chapter extended financial assistance on 20 April 2026.

An application was received from Hemanto Chetri, who sought help for his sister, Sumitra Chetri, currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer treatment. With her treatment already in its ninth cycle, the financial burden on the family had become significant.

The application was coordinated by Sonam Kaur Virdi and placed before the Board of Trustees, Dasam Foundation. Taking into account the seriousness of the situation, the Board sanctioned ₹20,000 to support her treatment.

The assistance was provided through an account payee cheque issued in the name of Sumitra Chetri, and handed over to the applicant by the Coordinator.

At a time when families often feel overwhelmed, such support brings not just financial relief, but also reassurance that they are not alone.

A Quiet Commitment to Seva

These efforts reflect the Dasam Foundation’s ongoing commitment to seva, reaching out where help is needed, whether in education or healthcare.

While the contributions may seem modest, their impact is deeply meaningful for the families involved. Step by step, such initiatives continue to strengthen a culture of compassion and collective responsibility within the community.
